Description

Polyester Solutions high density wall batts do two jobs in one product. They insulate against heat and they cut the noise passing through a wall. The higher density is what sets them apart from a standard thermal batt. More fibre packed into the same space gives the batt more mass, and mass is what slows sound down.

Every batt in this range is made to sit inside a standard wall cavity, so you get the acoustic benefit without needing a deeper wall. The R1.5 batt is 75mm thick. The R2.0 and R2.5 batts are 90mm, built to a higher density again to reach the R-value in the same cavity depth. All are soft polyester, itch free to handle, and made in Australia.

Choose a higher R-value for more thermal performance and more sound resistance. The batts are available in 430mm and 580mm widths to suit common stud spacing, and are supplied by the pack.

Why polyester for acoustic

Polyester works for sound because the dense fibre structure absorbs sound energy rather than reflecting it. It holds its shape and density over time, so the acoustic performance does not sag or settle the way looser materials can. For homes and rooms where a quieter wall matters, a bedroom against a living area, a home office, a shared internal wall, the high density polyester batt is a clean, easy to install answer.

Does polyester absorb sound?

Yes. Polyester fibre absorbs sound energy inside a wall, and a higher density batt absorbs more, which is why these high density batts are used where noise control matters.

What is the difference between these and standard thermal wall batts?

A standard thermal batt is built for heat only. These high density batts are built to do both, thermal and sound, by using more fibre and more mass in the same wall cavity.

Which R-value should I choose?

A higher R-value gives more thermal performance and more resistance to sound. R2.5 HD is the top of this range for a standard cavity.
