Description

Trade Select® VapourTech® RWC Roof Wall Commercial is a high-performance, four-layer vapour permeable membrane designed for use in both commercial and residential roof and wall systems across Australian Climate Zones 2 to 8. Classified as a Class 4 Vapour Permeable membrane, it allows high levels of water vapour to diffuse through its structure, effectively controlling condensation risk while preventing external liquid water ingress.

Constructed with a durable four-layer design, VapourTech® RWC offers superior strength, tear, puncture, and UV resistance. Its low flammability rating makes it suitable for use in all Bushfire Attack Levels (BALs) in bushfire-prone areas. The product is less than 1 mm thick, making it suitable for DtS non-combustible constructions as per NCC C1.9.

Application:

VapourTech® RWC is intended for use as a sarking under tile, steel, and slate roofs, as well as a wall wrap behind fibre cement, timber, Hebel, and brick veneer systems in Australian Climate Zones 2 to 8. In Climate Zone 1 and areas north of the Tropic of Capricorn in Climate Zone 2, a Class 1 or Class 2 Vapour Barrier, such as Trade Select® Sarking HVB or Sarking xR, is recommended.

When installed over battens in roofs, condensation can occur on the underside of the product; therefore, drainage battens should be installed to separate the product from the steel roof and allow for adequate drainage of pooled or trapped water. Similarly, when installed in walls behind non-absorbent claddings such as steel, provision should be made for adequate drainage of any trapped moisture.

VapourTech RWC is often paired with rigid insulation boards like Trade Select PIR-MTG to improve overall thermal performance. For projects where a dedicated thermal break is needed, builders frequently combine it with Trade Select ThermalBreak 7. Builders often combine VapourTech membranes with thermal break solutions such as NC Thermal Break Strips to reduce condensation risk and meet energy efficiency standards.
