Description
Trade Select® VapourTech® Wall is a triple-layer, high-performance vapour permeable membrane designed for use behind most types of cladding in wall systems across ABCB Climate Zones 2–8. It functions as an air barrier, water barrier, and Class 4 vapour permeable membrane—allowing internal moisture to diffuse outward while blocking external liquid water ingress.
Constructed from two outer layers of spun-bonded fabric and a high-permeance inner film core, this membrane is UV-resistant for up to 90 days, offers low flammability, and complies with all Bushfire Attack Levels (BALs). It is also highly durable, with excellent strength and puncture resistance, making it suitable for long-term installation in Australian building conditions.
Application:
Trade Select® VapourTech® Wall is used as a wall wrap behind fibre cement and timber cladding in most Australian climates. It can also be applied in brick veneer systems. For areas in Climate Zone 1 and the northern part of Zone 2, a substitute Class 1 or Class 2 Vapour Barrier (e.g., Trade Select® Sarking HVB or xR) is recommended. When used behind non-absorbent cladding such as steel, adequate drainage for trapped moisture should be provided. In brick veneer applications where a reflective cavity is required, Trade Select® Wall Wrap xRS Micro-perforated is preferred, especially outside the humid tropics.
