Description

Trade Select® ThermalBreak® is an Extra Heavy Duty, three-in-one reflective insulation, thermal break, and Class 2 Vapour Barrier designed for use in both residential and commercial applications. It meets the National Construction Code (NCC) requirements for an in-situ material R-value of R0.20, making it suitable for steel-framed constructions and also applicable to timber-framed structures.

Constructed with a 7.8 mm core of chemically cross-linked, closed-cell XPE foam, the product features aluminium foil laminated to one side with an emissivity of 0.03 and a polymer weave on the other side with an emissivity of 0.05. This composition effectively manages heat gain and loss, reduces thermal bridging, and enhances overall thermal performance.

Key Features:

  • Extra Heavy Duty classification

  • R0.2 Thermal Break in-situ performance

  • Group 1 Fire Performance Classification

  • Low Flammability Index (≤5), suitable for all Bushfire Attack Levels (BALs)

  • Acoustic dampening properties

  • Fibre-free and non-allergenic

  • Water-resistant and fire-resistant

Applications:

Trade Select® ThermalBreak® is ideal for use in roof and wall systems where a thermal break is required, particularly in steel-framed constructions. It is also suitable for timber-framed buildings. The product contributes to energy efficiency by reducing heat transfer and is compliant with NCC standards when correctly specified and installed.
