Kooltherm K17 specifications and uses
Kooltherm K17 is an insulated dry lining board built from a rigid thermoset phenolic core bonded to tapered edge gypsum based plasterboard on the face, with a tissue based facing on the reverse. It is fixed with adhesive, which makes it a straightforward internal wall lining for buildings that cannot be insulated on the outside or where the external appearance has to stay as it is. It suits new build and retrofit work on both commercial and residential projects.

How to choose between the two insulated plasterboards
Insulation Easy carries two Kooltherm insulated plasterboards, and the choice comes down to how the board is fixed to the wall. K17 is bonded with adhesive and has a tissue based reverse facing. Kingspan Kooltherm K18 insulated plasterboard is made for mechanical fixing, carries a low emissivity foil reverse facing and keeps the cavity clear, and it is stocked from 25mm to 80mm with a minimum order of 300m² on the 40mm, 70mm, 80mm and 90mm boards.
Once the fixing method is settled, thickness is the next decision, because the insulation thickness plus 10mm of plasterboard is the depth the lining takes off the room. Length is then matched to the wall height being lined, and the coverage figures above show the square metres each board delivers.
